No Online Games at Present

Due to strict laws currently in place in S.D, you won’t find any online games at the Prairie Wind Casino and Hotel at present. There may be the odd venue where you can place online bets on some niche markets, but these will be very few and far between and no real money transactions will be taking place. However, the state is currently reconsidering its hardline stance and is preparing to vote on whether online betting should be made legal, so there’s every chance we may see online betting introduced in the future. Be sure to check back here for updates.

Lots of Promotions

A stack of gold coins and some cash.

We are pleased to report that the Prairie Wind Casino and Hotel promotions range is well stacked. If you weren’t planning on staying a few nights, you should probably think again: there are some great deals to be redeemed in the hotel. The venue offers special weekend Stay and Play promotions where you can get special room rates, meal coupons, and free slot plays! There are also some neat deals where if you stay so many nights you get an additional night free!

In addition to the hotel promotions, you’ll also find some neat deals at the Stronghold Restaurant! Buy one get one free specials and meal deal combos are common. There are loads of promotions for gamblers also, such as hot seat cash draws, and free slot plays, but you have to be a member of the loyalty program in order to be eligible for most of them. We’ll go into more detail in the following section, but for now, see the full monthly promotions program on the official site.

Shooting Stars Loyalty Club

The words VIP written in gold.

The Shooting Stars Loyalty Club at Prairie Wind ensures there are a few benefits for regular players. It’s a points-accumulation-based system whereby the more points you earn, the more prizes you win. Points can be earned by playing slots and table games and can be redeemed in the form of hotel discounts, free slot plays, or entry to special promotions! The full promotions range is only available to members — all the more reason to join! Be sure to enquire at the venue directly on your next visit and get access to all the great benefits.

No Sports Betting

Unfortunately, sports betting is severely restricted in S.D at this time. This is largely due to the strict laws and regulations currently in place. However, it would appear as though the state legislature is ready to reconsider its position, so it’s quite likely we may see fully regulated sports betting services introduced in the not too distant future. Be sure to check back here regularly for updates and keep a close ear to news reports. If there is a breakthrough, and sports betting becomes legalized, we’ll be among the first to know.

Lots of Non-Gambling Related Attractions

If you’re anything like us, whenever you hit a gambling complex it’s straight to the gaming room. However, it’s always nice to have the option to explore alternative attractions. It’s a good thing, then, that there’s lots to explore in and around Prairie Wind. As we mentioned earlier, it’s located on the very remote Pine Ridge Reservation, so there’s the opportunity to get in touch with nature and learn about Native American culture.
